About Us

I began working for Industrial Ironworks in 1975. The company was established in Enid in the 1930's. I worked there until 1989 at which time I purchased the company and founded Mitchell Ironworks, Inc.

At the time, we primarily made windmill towers for four major distributors. The windmill towers were designed to accept the FIASA Windmill heads manufactured in Argentina. A burgeoning part of the business, ornamental iron, was gaining popularity in the midwest. Although this was an area our company did not originally consider a primary focus, we excelled at delivering stunning designs on the orders we took on.

Over the years, demand grew for our ornamental iron work. We soon found it to be our central focus and, in 2004, made a strategic decision to sell the tower division to the Ohio Windmill Co. From the day we founded the company to today, Mitchell Ironworks has provided custom fencing, stair railing and custom designed gates to Enid, Oklahoma and surrounding areas.

A hallmark of our craftsmanship, and an area we particularly pride ourselves in, is delivering fences carefully tailored to fit the elevation of your terrain. The end result being a custom fit fence with clean lines that hugs the ground.
